Join us for an exciting adventure in Minute Man National Historical Park where we activate the park and make contacts on the air! Watch as we set up our equipment and try to reach other parks around the world. Don't forget to subscribe for more amateur radio fun!
My family and I are embarking on a thrilling seven-day Spring Training adventure to South Carolina. Our main destination is to watch some exhilarating college baseball games, but we won't miss the opportunity to explore the beautiful parks along the way. We are looking forward to a fun-filled time filled with exciting games, breathtaking scenery, and quality time with each other
Our beach-go bag includes must-have tools such as lightweight transceivers, portable antennas, compact batteries, and much more. We have considered every aspect to ensure optimal performance while keeping convenience in mind. Discover the joy of enjoying your favorite low-power amateur radio activities amidst the sand and saltwater.
Okay, so Halloween has arrived, and I didn't have time to prepare a costume. I decided to dress up as an activator at the last minute, which I know is a bit of a cheap cop-out. However, since the weather was still good, I went to Mystic Valley State Park to activate. Don't worry, there is nothing spooky about it; it's just a regular activation.
Our second POTA Meetup was a success! The weather was perfect for the start of fall, and we were right in the middle of a contest weekend. Everyone who attended, including those who were at the reunion being held, had the opportunity to come, learn, and try out ham radio!
Have you ever had one of those days where nothing seems to go according to plan, and you feel like giving up? If so, I suggest - grabbing your POTA Gear, calling a friend, and heading to a park to activate!
Have you ever decided to take a chance and explore a new park? That's what I did after finishing work early - I headed over to Constitution Beach State Park. Little did I know what awaited me there.
Sometimes it feels like the universe is against us when we're trying to activate. But I may have stumbled onto a solution - I found this "twofer" park deal on my way back from Vermont. I'm crossing my fingers that this will help make things easier, and I can't wait to see how these two parks stack up against the tough bands.
I battle mother nature and try and activate K-8479.
Our first NH POTA Meetup for 2023! Although the impending rain was on the horizon, we still pressed on and had a great event!
Its Cinco De Mayo and I set out to activate Maudslay State Park and even though I could be enjoying my chips and salsa I am working one of my favorite parks.
Always check the contest calendar before heading out to an activation. I decided to activate Reeds Ferry State Forest (K-4950) but failed to recognize that it was CQ WPX Contest weekend.
I set out to activate K-4950 but didn’t realize the temperatures were rising while sitting in the sun. Then Murphy’s Law strikes!
I activate Taconic Ridge State Forest on the way home from NY
While working and tweaking my OBS Setup for Streaming I decided to record my QSO with K8MRD while he activated K-3056
Making contacts with a few hams back home on my vacation and activation in Florida
After a client visit, I am making a detour to POTA K-2435 Great Brook State Farm
Todd (W1STJ) and I have an impromptu activation on a Saturday at Pack Monadnock.
I am working toward my Kilo at a local park down the street from the QTH. Here is just a quick video of that activation
Sometimes you get unlucky when you activate. This time I was set up next to a boat ramp and apparently, a trolling motor was causing a lot of RFI..
I am working on perfecting my FT8 Portable setup for Spring 2023. I hope, just like my Voice setup I have a simple setup to work ft8
